This will be a short Blog but is a subject that unfortunately too many young parents have not carefully planned for.  Young parents often believe they will live forever and they should feel that way.  Unfortunately life's circumstances can change unexpectedly.  Young parents often will go out for an evening with the children in the care of a baby sitter, friend or grandparent.  These same young parents could be involved in a tragic accident and both lose their lives.  Hopefully, they have planned for such a sad event in their Wills or Trusts but the reason I decided to write this is to sound the alarm that I am seeing too many cases where the parents have not planned for the potential tragedy.  I pray this short Blog will help a family think about working with their local Estate Planning attorney to develop a formal, documented plan that spells out in detail, who should take care of your children should your life suddenly end.
